A Taste of Thai

A friend of mine is part Thai and went to Thailand last January for the first time. She brought back these cute little dresses and umbrellas for her niece and two daughters. She asked if I would take some pictures to send to her mother. The fall colors were still barely hanging on and so I made good use of what was left.

My husband took this lovely image on his cell phone. He has been deer hunting and this is what he sees after sitting in the dark hours of morning as the sun begins to rise. So far, he’s shot one 8 point buck..not a kill, but somewhere there is a buck in the woods walking around with an arrow in his butt!!

Notice, the leaves are already off the trees.

The Remnants of Autumn

A photographer friend of mine was coming up from Cincinnati to visit some relatives and asked me if I would be willing to photograph her sister’s children. I was totally flattered and a bit apprehensive with the challenge. It’s not easy photographing for another photographer but I think together we pulled this one off. There is a mingling here of my photographer friends nieces and nephew and her own children. We had a lot of fun and everyone was pretty laid back. All of these children are under the age of seven!!

Color

I was driving through some nice country roads yesterday and happened upon some brilliant maples. Maple trees are the best for color in the fall. Red, Orange, Yellow…hard to resist photographing when given the opportunity. Soon they will all turn brown and continue their fall from the trees, ushering the stark nakedness of winter. While I was out photographing these trees, there was an open field right next to the tree line where an eight point buck and his doe were feeding. I know it’s hard to see them clearly, but I feared if I moved too much closer they would run…eventually my trudging around spooked them and they white-tailed it off into the brush. It was quite peaceful to watch them though. It was a beautiful day.

I love fine art photography. It is so cathartic to me to just get in the car and roam until I see somthing that catches my eye. Something with potential. These images make me feel happy, even if a bit moody…

OOPS! How’d that last one get in there. I just wanna say those footprints are all mine. Every single one of them. I admit, I did break a little sweat. Too bad Ohio doesn’t have an ocean.
