Okay, this isn’t a full on senior photo layout, it’s simply a quick super mini get together to meet the April deadline of yearbook pictures. The really awesome mega cool senior session will be when the weather really warms up and dormant flowers and trees begin to bloom in May. And based on the head shots we did, I can’t wait. What a knockout this girl is. Not to mention she plays Golf. Oh my gosh, this girl can swing it like nobody’s business. You can read more about her here. Okay, hot and plays golf like a rock star? Yes, Ma’am!!

{High School Senior} Taylor

I’m getting ready to board my plane for Las Vegas to run the Rock n Roll half marathon. It’s been an amazing 11 weeks of preparation and It all comes down to the final 13.1 miles I’ll be running on Sunday. I’ve never been to Vegas so my husband and I have a lot planned. I’ll be sure to post pictures when I return on Monday!

In the mean time, here are a few shots of Taylor, from my final session of the year. Taylor is a future English major (a girl after my own heart)! The weather here in Ohio has been wonderful. We’ve had a very long extended Indian summer. But the day of our session the Indian summer had come to an end and it was 30 degrees out. With a nice brisk wind, I might add. When we finally got to doing her formal dress, we had to wrap her in a blanket because as you’ll see..brrrrrr! She did an amazing job in spite of the cold and we all had a great time working around it. I also learned that her mother is a runner and has done several half marathons and a full as well. So much in common. It was a wonderful end to my photography year of 2010. Here are a few of Taylor…

My Rock Star Babysitter

This is my super awesome, incredible, fantastic, sweethearted, smart, blessing of a babysitter. I am going to miss her as she will be graduating in a week or so from high school. We’ve had Kelsey for at least four years now and I truly will be at a loss because she has been the best babysitter. Always consistent, always willing to help me out in a bind, and my kids love love love her. Whatever will I do?

Recently I’ve had the pleasure of meeting this young lady. She is wise beyond her years and it is easy to forget that she is still but a senior in high school graduating in a few weeks. She was recently one of the students chosen throughout the nation to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show to discuss what it is like to be an obese teenager in today’s society. Her story is heartbreaking and courageous. She has lost over 50 pounds since her appearance on the show and just yesterday we did our cardio together at the gym where we train. She is loyal. She is smart. She is helpful. She is dedicated. She is not a quitter. And she is a woman with a heart.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Stephanie with her date, Ethan, before her senior prom.

So, I’ve been asked if I do High School Seniors and I’ve wondered if I should. I’ve tried to focus mostly on children but after this most recent session, I think I will add seniors to my repertoire. Here are a few from a recent shoot.
