Well, here's the thing, now that you Melissa and you Heather have commented, you've left a link for me to follow and now I'm reading your blogs. It's good to see who is reading! Thanks for your thoughts!
And Doris, I gotta come over and see what you've been doing! I gave up on 365 a while ago. :)

I find it's the people who started a blog, personal or otherwise, because it was what everyone was doing that are the ones who contribute to the death of blogging. They start blog after blog and do well with them for a few months, and then realize, oh my god, I'll be doing this forever/this is work to maintain, and promptly quit. Orphaned blogs everywhere. But then usually, their blogs weren't that great to begin with, the posts amounting to, "look at me I blogged today!" or "hmm what's happened since the last time I randomly blogged, I swear I'll get better!"

I find the best blogs, even professional photography blogs, are the ones where the blogger's main motivation for blogging is just for their own creative amusement and they don't care if anyone reads it or subscribes to their feed. If it isn't a creative outlet for you, then keep it to a mere business tool and approach it that way, a means to advertise your business and post client images for them to share with their families. So blog when it is appropriate for the business.

But if it is something that lets you fulfill a creative outlet, to share images or thoughts that express something you want to let out, then do it, and don't worry if blogging is dying. . .maybe the people who are leaving blogging weren't around for the right reasons, or looking for something to grow and learn from in this media.
